About the Facilitator

Dr. Jitendra Kumar Sinha is a neuroscientist and mental health researcher with interdisciplinary expertise spanning neuroscience, neurobiology, behavioural health, and ageing research. His work integrates molecular, cellular, and systems-level perspectives to understand brain function, neurodegeneration, and mental health disorders, with particular interest in aging, metabolic dysfunction (including obesity and diabesity), and their impact on brain health. Dr. Sinha has been actively involved in academic teaching, curriculum development, and research supervision, contributing to competency-based education initiatives in psychology and allied health sciences. He has participated in national and international research collaborations and has contributed to scholarly outputs including peer-reviewed articles, review papers, and academic textbooks. In addition to research, he is engaged in science policy-relevant work related to mental health education, workforce development, and standardisation of psychology training. His broader interests include translational neuroscience, public mental health, and the interface between biological mechanisms and behavioural outcomes, with a strong commitment to evidence-based science, academic rigor, and capacity building in mental health research and education.
